The Story of Curt LeMay's Medal from the Japanese Government.

Jonathon Delacour has an interesting post on his blog about a little known medal that Curtis E. LeMay recieved on December 7th, 1964 from the Government of Japan; The Order of the Rising Sun.

Once Again, Television proves it's got nothing on reality for sheer craziness.

Selective Ignorance and the Iranian Bomb.

The sheer blindness I'm seeing in anything relating to the Iranian nuclear program amongst liberals is just astounding

There's no real reason for people to blindly believe it's a civilian program; not with all the evidence and satellite photographs of superbunkers, and the appointment of IRGC generals to run most of Iran's government; yet liberals continue to deny the conclusions that you HAVE to come to when you put two and two together to get four in relation to the Iranian program.

The only explanation for this blindness is that those people WANT Iran to get the Bomb, no matter how deleterious it is to the foreign policy calculus in the Middle East, as a way of humilating the United States, and by extension ChimpyMcHitler Bush on the foreign policy front.

Talk about cutting your own nose off to spite your enemy; there is no indication at all that a nuclear armed Iran will be any better for the world as a whole.

These people are supposed to be Intelligent and logical thinkers, yet they refuse to put the pieces together, so that's the only solution I can come up with as to WHY they can't or won't put the pieces together.

SAC will be back

The Future of the US Nuclear Deterrent

From today's Washington Post, we learn that:

The Pentagon is working to develop a suborbital space capsule within the next five years that would be launched from the United States and could deliver conventional weapons anywhere in the world within two hours, defense officials said.

This is the future of strategic weapons; something that combines the speed of an ICBM with the recallability of the manned bomber, and the capability of manuevering, unlike ballistic missiles; which even if equipped with MIRVs have a limited manuvering footprint.

North Korea achieves a breakthrough (2)

From the Secret Superbunkers of North Korea Comes The Latest In Weapons Technology!

We are proud to reveal to you the North Korean Objective Interim Expendable Lightweight Assault Force Tactical Urban Warrior System, Chemical Fueled.....

The mission of the Objective Interim Expendable Lightweight Assault Force Tactical Urban Warrior System, Chemical Fueled, or OIELAFTUWSCF, is the engagement at close quarters of enemy forces and material within moderately built up urban areas such as those found in third world shitholes. Each Warrior System consists of a single male age 12-21 armed with an RPK light machine gun, one 10-pound satchel charge, one spare drum magazine and one machete. Each Warrior System is also issued with sixteen ounces of crystal Meth, one pipe for smoking crystal Meth, and six ounces of pure PCP, also smoked in the meth pipe. A loot sack is also included in the kit. Training is limited to advice on what size of hit to start with. Transportation consists of small Japanese pickup trucks equipped with KPV heavy machine guns and RPG-7 rocket launchers.

The Warrior System is deployed in units of 500-15,000 primarily for the purpose of the punitive expeditions against those the Great Leader deems an annoyance in the third world, but who are not yet worthy of the attention of North Korean Main Force units.

The French Connection II

Here comes this news, courtesy of Burak Gazan on www.stardestroyer.net

March 1, 2005: Without much publicity, France has moved the replenishment ship Var to the eastern Mediterranean. The Var contains facilities for running commando operations, as well as facilities for about 200 commandoes and their equipment.

Looks like the French are going to intervene in Lebanon.

EDIT:

The Great Leader Says:
The morons at strategypage strike again. The French are not going to stage commando operations off a replenishment ship against Syria. Var is a member of the Durance class, which happens to be armed with one 40mm cannon, two 20mm cannon and two heavy machine guns. None of the weapons have radar fire control and even if the ship had Mistral MANPADS missile teams on her deck she would still be hopelessly vulnerable to Syrian air or naval attacks. Such counter strikes would be a certainty if French commandos start showing up.

We can take note that something might be going to happen whenever French or American warships armed with effective weapons show up. In fact, so long as a very poorly protected French replenishment ship is steaming off the coast, we can be pretty confident that nothing will happen. Now if Var suddenly happens to spawn an escort and CdG arrives with her Rafales, then we have something brewing.

Lebanese Gov't Resigns

LINKA

BEIRUT, Lebanon (CNN) -- In a special speech to Parliament, Lebanon's pro-Syrian prime minister has announced his resignation and that of his government.

The speech, by Prime Minister Omar Karami, was broadcast by Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation.

Karami said he would have won a no-confidence vote scheduled for later in the day, but was resigning to avoid making his government a stumbling block to peace.

"I'm afraid we will have a vacuum in the country," said House Speaker Nabih Berri, who asked for the floor. "I should be allowed to say something." He was not given the floor.

It is happening now, or will be soon. The end of decades of Syrian oppression over Lebanon.

The Nails are driven into the coffin...

This article is very interesting, especially the following segments:

One U.S. official emitted a deep, extended laugh when asked for an assessment of the prime minister and said Canada no longer qualifies as a trusted ally.

and the final sentence by the leader of the NDP, which is a corker:

"The fact is that if Canada is a part of a program like this, then we become a target."

Reminds me of why the people in Chicago, et al opposed ABM sites for Safeguard in their cities "because it would make them a target", never mind that every large major urban area was ALREADY a target according to Assured Destruction policies.

EDIT:Reading the article further, it appears that NORAD is up for review next year. Keep an eye on that; NORAD could be abolished in 2006, or reformed into CONAD, Continental Air Defense, with no Canadian participation.
